Ingredients and spices that need to be Prepare to make Til Gud Revdi:
- 300 gms Jaggery chopped
- 150 gms Sesame seeds
- 2 tablespoons Ghee
- 2 tablespoons Water
- 4-5 drops rose essence
- as required Greased tray lined with greased butter paper
Instructions to make to make Til Gud Revdi
- First, roast the sesame seeds till they are aromatic, pop up but retain colour. Then take away from fire and cool.
- Now, heat a kadhai and add Jaggery to it. Add 2 tablespoon water and melt it on low flame. Add 2 tablespoon ghee and mix well.
- Keep stirring till the jaggery syrup becomes thick and 3 string consistency is reached. Put a small drop of syrup in a bowl of cold water.
- Check if the jaggery solidifies and breaks easily. If it doesn't break and is soft, cook on low flame for 1 minute further and check again.
- When the syrup reaches hard ball consistency, switch off flame and quickly add the jaggery, rose essence and stir well.
- Take the mixture on greased and lined tray and with the help of parchment paper, keep folding and mixing the the prepared Revdi mixture 7 to 8 times.
- Now, take out small portions of the mixture and press with hand in the shape of Revdi.
- Do this fast before the mixture becomes hard. Keep all the revdis on a plate till they harden.
