  9. 1 tsp split skinless black gram (dhuli urad dal)
  10. 10-12 curry leaves
  11. 2 tbsp broken cashews nuts
  12. 3-4 green chillies
  13. 2 tbsp peanuts roasted salt
  14. 1/4 tsp turmeric powder

Steps to make to make Mustard and tamarind rice 😋😋

  1. Dry roast Bengal gram,4 tbsp mustard seeds, and fenugreek seeds in a small non-stick pan till lightly browned. Cool. Roughly chop 3 dried red chilies.
  2. Put the chopped dried chilies into a mixer jar, add roasted ingredients, and grind to a coarse powder.
  3. Heat oil in another non-stick pan add asafoetida, black gram, and reminding mustard seed, and Saute for half a minute add curry leaves,1 tbsp peanuts, and cashew nuts and saute further till the cashew nut turn lightly browned.
  4. Roughly chopped remaining dried red chilies and add to the pan slit green chilies without cutting through and add turmeric powder mix well cook for 4-5 minutes.
  5. Add 2 tbsp of the ground powder to the pan and simmer for a minute store the remaining ground powder in an airtight container for future use.
  6. Put the rice into a large bowl add the tempering to the rice and mix well
  7. Put the rice on a serving plate and serve immediately.
